TWO WEEKS ago, a group of Belarusian children arrived in California for six weeks of fun with host families in Marin and Sonoma.
For the children, who hail from regions affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, it's also an opportunity to strengthen their immune systems with fresh air and clean food and water.

2008 CCP Benefit Fundraiser

!! Thank You !! to everyone who joined us Saturday May 3 for our annual fundraiser to benefit the children of the Belarus. Thanks to your generosity the event was a big success!!

The event was held at the Sally Tomatoes Event Center

Belarus Embassy Vice Council Oleg Popov flew to Petaluma in November to accompany Tanya Kazyra back home.

This was Oleg's second trip to Petaluma this year. He is shown here with Tanya and other kids from CCP host families. CCP is very grateful to Oleg and the Belarus Embassy for all of their assistance this year.

Butter and Egg Days Parade 2009

CCP will be marching in this years Petaluma Butter and Eggs Day Parade. The parade is held in downtown Petaluma on Saturday, April 25th. The entire event lasts from 10am to 4pm, the parade walk starts at noon. If you want to learn more about this event please visit the parade's website: www.petlaumadowntown.com We'll see you there!!!

CCP President & Vice President Leave for Ukraine and Belarus

CCP President Ruth Hansen and Vice President Linda McMahon leave Monday, November 9th for a trip to the Ukraine and Belarus. Just under three weeks, their trip will include visits to several orphanages, homes of past host children and meetings with administrative contacts. We are very excited to announce that a large part of their journey will be covered in a upcoming documentary film, currently titled "Little Chernobyl". Becoming a Host Family

We are delighted that you are considering participating as a host family with the Chernobyl Children's Project. Please note that this chapter supports host families in an area just north of San Francisco in Marin County, Petaluma, Rohnert Park, Santa Rosa, and Sonoma. If you are outside those areas, we recommend that you contact the Children of Chernobyl U.S. Alliance for information on other chapters worldwide.

Little Chernobyl

We are very excited to announce that a new documentary about the children we serve in the regions still affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster is about to begin filming. CCP President Ruth Hansen and CCP Vice President Linda McMahon depart Monday November 9th for a trip to the Ukraine and Belarus. In addition to their visits with orphanages, homes of past host children and meetings with administrative contacts, Ruth and Linda will also be working with a Director and film crew during their visit.
